The Ramsey TV6C TV Transmitter Kit works quite well. So far it travels through several walls and floors and a few hundred feet in the open, (still need to fine tune and test for maximum range, I expect about 300 feet +-.) The new digital/ analog TV's are much more finicky about the signal, the transmitter needs to be set perfectly for the new TVs, but the older ones, especially the tube ones, pick up the signal, much more easily and with much better quality than the new digital/analog sets.
The kit went together well, I didn't like the way the solder holes were filled, for the solder side capacitor 220pF, by placing other components first, so I improvised the soldering method. Most of the components went in well, but I really like having a schematic with traditional layout, as a reference. I may draw one and post it later. Some of the coils were identified by a green body color, but the supplied ones were beige....no big deal...like the instructions said, you may notice little things like that.
The voltage regulator and RF Power Transistor; 2N3866 NPN transistor [Q5] get very hot to the touch, after just a few moments of operation, with no apparent degradation of signal. Still, I wonder, is this normal? I'm thinking of installing a small micro computer fan. Overall, a fun project, I will buy more Ramsey kits in the future, and recommend them to anyone with basic experience.
