Data Vision DV-20208 HD44780-compatible 20x2 5x7 dot matrix character LCD with YELLOW-GREEN LED backlight. Unit is approximately 3.79" x 2.61" x 0.55" overall with 4 mounting holes. Other dimensions match the standard DV-20200 datasheet (see below). These have 20 solder pads at standard 0.1" pitch.
These do not require a negative contrast voltage. 0.7V seems to be optimal at room temperature. The LED backlight requires a minimum of 5.5V to light. You'll need at least 5.7V for optimal brightness. If you're going to power the backlight from a PC, you'll need a 180 Ohm (¼ Watt) resistor in series with 12V.
We've tested this display with LCDSmartie 5.3 (http://lcdsmartie.sourceforge.net/) using their recommended wiring (pins 1-14 only, click here for diagram).
