Introducing: The IN-18/IN-4 Nixie Tube Socket!
No more need to glue those incomplete Russian sockets with missing metal mounting ring ears into your clock housing.
New PCB/Pin sockets for Russian IN-18 or IN-4 Nixie tubes. HIGH QUALITY machined pins w/gold plated contacts are included. Assembly is easy: just insert the pins in the socket and solder. The socket is marked with a "front" key, and the actual digit numbers are also marked on the outer perimeter for ease of clock assembly without guesswork. Solder your anode and cathode wires in the marked holes. The special oval shape of these sockets allows for close placement of tubes side by side. Both anode pins are provided. Note the two absent pin positions (pins 1 and 8) which are not necessary for function of the IN-18 tube. (These are the factory "mercury giver" heater element pins which are only used once to release the mercury inside the tube.) The 12 pins hold the tube very snugly, and allow for enough spring "give" to protect the delicate tubes from damage. (Removal and insertion of the tubes is recommended to be done in a spiral rotation.)
Please solder pins from the back side to avoid fouling the contact hole with solder. Seller is not responsible for any damage which may occur to buyer's tubes due to improper soldering or socket mounting.
YOU ARE AT LAST FREE TO BUILD YOUR OWN IN-18 CLOCK WITHOUT LIMITATION ON YOUR HOUSING DESIGN, AND WITH THE PROPER TUBE MOUNTING ARRANGEMENT!
